Description

Sermon by Kenny Foster, Senior Pastor, from Isaiah 6:1-13 & Luke 5:1-11. This week’s Scripture readings from the lectionary take us into deep discipleship territory, into the presence of God. In the presence of God is where the transformation of our hearts takes place at its deepest levels and we are filled with a fire that burns for nothing less than his purity. This is the experience of Isaiah when he sees the Lord. Peter, and those who were with him, also had the same experience when Jesus confronts them on a boat on the lake. The outcome of these gracious confrontations is transformed lives filled with the purpose of glorifying the Lord. This sermon’s focus is on what it means to follow Jesus’ command to “put out into the deep.” Jesus command lures us into a place where we are uncomfortable, but yet we feel at home. This sounds contradictory, so how can it be true? You will have to listen to the sermon to find out!
