Sermon by Kenny Foster, Senior Pastor, from Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10 & Luke 4:14-21. Many have asked the question: “What is the joy of the Lord?” Many sermons have been preached on the joy of the Lord. The question is asked and attempts to answer it are made because we all long for joy to define our lives. And we think that the problem of joy eluding us is because it is something that we produce or circumstances dictate the experience of it. However the Scripture teaches us that “the joy of the Lord is our strength.” There are several questions that arise from this teaching. What is the joy of the Lord? How does it give us strength? How do I get this joy? And what good is it once I have it? This sermon answers these questions.
