God’s presence among his people brings blessings, justice, and joy. In the Old Testament the Israelites longed to experience God’s presence, therefore they went to the temple to worship God in Zion, God’s dwelling place. When Christ came to the world, Zion transcended the temple and now God’s presence is experienced at the local church.
