Sermon by Kenny Foster, Associate Pastor, Psalm 111 & Mark 1:21-28
The Psalmist says, “Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.” (Psalm 111:2) According to Mark 1:22, Jesus’ teaching in the synagogue caused astonishment among the people who were present. Are we to be any less astonished at the teaching and works of the Lord? In a world of technological advancements, artificial intelligence, and computer graphics, of what value are the works of God and the teaching of Christ? Does the time spent on our screens give our hearts the wonder and astonishment that enables us to give God the praise that is due for his works? In this sermon we will see from the story of Jesus healing the man with the unclean spirit that there is more than enough to capture our amazement and leave us astonished at the great works of the Lord through his Son Jesus Christ.
